I've been having some trouble with Aiptasia. I've been using AiptasiaX with some success - initially I thought it was doing a great job of wiping out the Aiptasia but now it seems that most of my treatment attempts are just causing the Aiptasia to retract into a crevice for a few days rather than actually killing them.

So, what is your preferred method of biological control for Aiptasia, Peppermint Shrimp or Berghia?

Between my Sixline Wrasse, Angels, and Tomentosus Filefish I'm having a hard time expecting a Berghia population to survive and reproduce in my system. Do you think a Berghia population would be ok in this situation?

The SixLine Wrasse maybe an issue.

If you can re-home the SixLine until the Berghia could get the job done, then I'd go with the nudi's.

Here's an article that I cut from my build thread.

Thanks @GoVols. I’ve read that peppermint shrimp are likely to eat Berghia. I don’t currently have peppermint shrimp in the display but I do have a few Skunk Cleaner Shrimp and Fire Shrimp, are these also likely to eat Berghia also?

Nope the shrimp unfortunately don't eat the aiptasia, they do get stung by them. Pepperments on the other hand are a hit or miss. Basically the same hit or miss with them eating your Lps =). The juices don't work, I don't know why they even have something like that on the market. All it takes is for a micro aiptasia flesh and a week for them to grow again. Berghias are your best bet, they only eat aiptasia. They only can survive on aiptasia, so when the aiptasia are gone-you can sell the left over berghia and get your money back. There's a few fish that eat aiptasia, also have the same chance at eating your coral. So unless you want to take a risk, I would just get the berghia.

Thanks a lot. Do you happen to know if the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp and/or the Fire Shrimp are likely to eat Berghia? I've read that Peppermint Shrimp are likely to eat Berghia, but I haven't seen that stated for Fire Shrimp or Skunk Cleaner Shrimp.
