I’ve got a real issue with aptasia. I’ve been using the laser but 2 seem to pop up for every one I fry. Has anyone else had success using Berghia. Are there any side effects that would impact an sps tank? Much appreciated.

I’ve heard of people having great success with them. It’s not cheap but as long as you don’t have fish that prey on them I’ve seen tanks eradicated.
Matted file fish also work, but are not guaranteed to be reef safe.
Others have had success with peppermint shrimp. Don’t know what options you have tried.
I have a couple I fight as well with kalk paste. I have never gotten rid of them completely. Just manage them.

What size is your tank?
I've got about 450 circulating volume with a 350 display with 50+ Aiptasia. I went cheap and bought 5. Put them in the sump that I seeded some aiptasia in and allowed them to breed down there and whenever I found more than 5 I transferred into the display. Ended up transfering about 20 after a month or so and then started seeing new babies in the display at 3AM. Took about 2-3 months to see a dent. Got down to 2-3 Aiptasia and then all the Berghia must of gotten eaten. So now the Aiptasia are reproducing again. I suspect it was my Asterinas that did it. I had a population of a few thousand and used harlequin shrimp to wipe them out since they were eating my coral. I didn't see any Asterina for 6 months or so and once I started seeing them again I stopped seeing the Berghia. Now I have about 100 Asterinas. I'm on the fence of what to do. Might attempt a Copperband.... Matted Filefish ate my Acans. Never saw any peppermint shrimp after I introduced 5. Tried all those months before the Berghia

Arent butterflies notorious coral pickers too tho?
Yes they are. Mine will not let me have a trach, he will just pick at it so I don't have any. If I frag a chalice or acan he will go crazy and eat pretty much any lps that you frag or gets broke like that....that has skin. I think they give off a smell. Other than that, mine will not bother anything. I hear they are hit or miss. What kind of crals do you have. I have donuts, lobo's, frog spawns, torches, octospawns, acans, zoo's, sps etc.
