I am thinking of making one side of the tank a sort of coral wall. Xenia, GSP, zoas/palys and mushrooms all grow on glass. What else will?

plating monti's ,acro's , chalices , blue ridge,to name a few... :)

Favias would be an easy one for me. It sounds like they would work. Is that correct?
most are slow growers, did forget the pavonas ,they love the glass too.

How should I think through growing coral this way? Encrusting corals, GSP, etc will stay flat against the back glass (2D). But acros will grow outward (3D). Will that affect flow? Ability to access the back of the tank ( say for maintenance)?

Don't do GSP!! It grows way too fast and can take over even filter boxes as u can see. Pretty but invasive. If you use it, be sure to give it a good "waxing" regularly. Hahaha
