hi,
this is my first time using this forum so please forgive me as i am still learning how to use it,
i am new to this salt water hobby and i have had fresh water tropical aquariums and now i am ready to take the next step and start my adventure into the reef aquariums, and i am just wondering what would be the best way for me to start i.e tanks , lighting , filtration ect.
thanks in advance

Best place to start is going to be YouTube honestly. Brs tv has 52 weeks of reefing, all the info you need and more. Tidal gardens has very in-depth info on coral species. Mad hatters reef is great. Melevs reef has a ton of great info. As far as a great all in one waterbox, Red Sea, or fijicube would be my recommendations in that. Everything else is research until your brain hurts

I would recommend the fluval evo as your first tank. Reasonably priced AIO that comes with a stock light that works for many corals.

Welcome! Definitely check out all the BRS videos on YouTube or their website (bulkreefsupply.com). I buy almost all my gear from them because they spend so much time/money educating their customers. Also, ask a ton of questions here. I learned almost everything I know from BRS and R2R. Good luck!!

Brs 52 weeks of reefing is great but it is long! Check out there 5min reef guide video series I love it quick simple no bs not too much fluff. Just do this and these steps for a successful tank! From lights skimmers wave makers fish cuc etc. I'm using it to setup my tank now! And it only take 5mins to replay an episode!

Definitely stay away from Corallife biocubes. I had 2 32 gal AIO's both fully stocked, crack in the front right corner from the middle all the way down. I managed to catch it the first time, and just transferred most of what I was able to save into another 32 gal biocube. However 3 months later that biocube also cracked in the exact same place. That time I wasn't aware until the next day and at that point I had lost all the coral I had been growing. I have a 14 gal biocube and put my fish in there as I slowly regrew my coral garden, and 2 nights ago the tanks pump overheated, melting the connecting electrical cord. I'm not sure if it was the electricity or lack of flow accompanied with the fact the tank is hooded trapping the heat(even though I had another power head in there) but I lost everything again. At this point I'll never use there product again. Like you I didn't know where to start and the biocubes came with everything I needed, but the curved glass is definitely a flaw. I would go with an IM AIO tank or the fluval that was suggested and upgrade the pump when you can. I myself am trying to find something out there other then just an apex that can make me aware of any future issues before its to late to save me from any future problems because at this point I'm beginning to feel pretty hopeless
