Best alkalinity for mixed reef being sps dominant

My tank seems to do well with dkh around 9.3 and ca at 450-470

I don't have sps tho

I've never understood why people want to keep 7 or 8 strict Alk. I can never get mine that low and have never been able to unless I'm adding chemicals, which I wouldn't do.

Red Sea Blue Bucket mixes around 8. 2 to 8.6. My stupid Neptune Trident always tests about 8.2 to 8.8. In reality, my Hanna testers test 1 dkh higher than the Trident.

Keeping your PH up with Kalk or dosing with 2 part, etc will raise your Alk. I suppose if you used a salt like TM Pro and had a calcium reactor, then you could keep it lower.

If your Alk swings from 8.2 to 8.7 daily, Acropora never seem to mind. I'm sure if you let it swing by 2 points, yes sure, that will have some consequences.

Is there any verifiable evidence that 7 dkh grows Acropora better than say 10? That's an honest question too. Mean nothing by it, but I've never seen anything that says different.

Natural Sea Water is around 7.7

I don't do chemicals or anything, I just program my system to 7.7 and the dosing keeps it there +/ 0.2dkh
When I did that growth in both my tanks exploded. That's it :)

My corals are happy at 7-9 dKh
