Hi all,
I am curious to hear everyone’s opinion on the best (dry) all purpose fishfood. For years I have enjoyed a Taiwanese brand “Ultra fresh”. I have not been able to secure any more and now am looking out for other good brands. I have used Ocean Nutrition, Omega1 and New Life Spectrum in the past that I dont mind. For the most part I feed frozen, but do offer pellets in between meals as treats.
what’s your recommendation for te best all around dry (pellet or flake) food for marine fish?
I am looking to rate by its nutritional quality, easily accepted by broad range of fish, less waste, and price value.
Look forward to hear!

My fish really enjoy new life spectrum. I’ve also heard that it’s one of the top dry foods out there so I’m happy with it! I use it daily in a auto-feeder due to having fish that need to eat while I’m not home.

Are you feeding pellets or flakes?

I have personally had great success with ReefNutrition's TDO-C2 ChromaBoost (small) for fish/inverts and several LPS coral and anemones. I tried BRS brand pellets for a while but ended up going back to TDO.
Do you feed these to corals and nems with turkey baster?

Yes, I have. Mix up some pellets in a cup of tank water so they soak up some water and sink and then use a turkey baster to squirt a few of each into various candy cane heads, and my RFA. In the past I have had acans, plate coral, and BTA's consume them as well.

One of the most annoying part lf me feeding corals is cleaner shrimp and fish will get to it (even when food is halfway down the coral’s throat)!

Auto-feeder is ran on pellets due to consistency and less likely to clog up
I need to give auto feeder a shot. As much of an enjoyment it is to feed, I do like the option to go on vacation without starving my fish for the week (though they don’t seem to mind the fasting

That is my main use of it, I am out of the house for 2-3 days a week and it can rarely, but sometimes, be a full week.

I can’t tell what the fish really like per se but Formula Ii pellets, TDO, NLS & Hikari herbivore all get great feeding responses
….I use mostly all pellets ..flakes end wasting too much
+3 for TDO Chromaboost.

I feed twice a day pellets while I'm at work. On the occasion I'm home, my fish go nuts for the TDO!

I feed TDO, NLS, and algae max pellets. Since the TDO is red, my fish seek them out first. After the TDO is gone, they will forage for the rest. You can actually see them pass the other colored pellets up, or just spit them out to go find more TDO.

TDO FTW!

my auto pellet feeder is filled with a mix of;
TDO chroma boost
NLS Ultra Red
NLS Thera-A
PE Mysis pellets
and a few chlorella flakes for texture. ;)

TDO has always been my go to pellets as my fish prefer them over any other pellet. Every thing in my tank will eat TDO. fish, inverts, and even corals.

I see TDO comes with all the A-B varieties, which ones do you guys use?

OH for sure! I had a Ruby Red scooter dragonette that started eating TDO from the auto feeder! Also, my red rooster wasp fish sits right under where the pellets float down from the auto-feeder when the flow turns down at feeding time, just waits and *GULP*! Fish love them.

Here is a feed chart to help you decide. TDO is incredibly versatile. You can feed it to more than fish!
