Im sure this has been asked before but which angelfish would i have the best luck with in my 75gal reef tank? I have lps sps and zoa/palys. I have had a coral beauty in the past the only thing was that i couldnt keep leathers. It would nip it and the polyps would never get to come out. Thanks for any advise

There are a fw of the large Angels that are Reef safe, but the dwarf angels are all hit and miss, you'd be hoping that they didnt' pick at anything.

Your tank isn't big enough for the large Angels.

Bellus Angelfish
Lamarck's Angelfish
Spotbreast Angelfish
Watanabe's Angelfish

I have a Flame Angel in my 75 mixed reef; it's never bothered anything. They are a very active fish and are always on the hunt. I think the secret is to have plenty of pods to keep it busy and it will leave your corals alone.

I think it just comes down to the individual angel. I have had to remove a Flame and Bi-Color on separate occasions and my tank has more pods than I know what to do with. I have also had a Eibli Angel that was a model citizen. In the past I have kept all three without any issues at all. Some just have the taste for coral and some don't IMO.

The only really reef-safe angels are of the Genicanthus genus, so research those. I do believe they all get too big for your tank, however :/

I've had good luck with Flame Angels, but there is always the risk a certain individual one may nip. My Flame hasn't touched a single coral, hard or soft.

I've always had lots of angels in my tanks. It's about health and diet. You feed them multiple times a day with a good diet, they are less prone to nip. Just as much as you need to feed them well, your corals have to be healthy. If they are dying or stressed, I've found that angels tend to nip more.
