Hi all,

Probably been discussed 1000000 times but technology improves every year.

What is everyone's top pick?

Thanks!

Inexpensive fans from Amazon hooked up to Apex for on/off temps

A cheap small desk top fan from Home depot does wonders. Evaporative cooling works the same no matter what fan you use. Air blowing across the surface of your tank or sump will do a great job. Just keep that ATO topped off ;)

I currently have a 4 fan assy from Saltwater Aquarium on my sump and it works great. I currently have GHL 4 fan assy in transit that will replace it. It will be able to ramp up and down depending on the temp thru my GHL P4. When it is released, I plan on getting this beauty below.

I use a brand called air king and it is super quiet and really pushes air well

All fans are not created equal, the more air and surface interaction, the more evaporation and cooling.
There are some lousy fans sold on Amazon that do not push much air.
Vornado fans push a high volume and come in different form factors.

Jumping in to ask a question, is it better to place on DT or sump ?

I will have to take a photo tonight, but I got two small black clamp desk fans and hooked them on to the far right and far left light mount. They have "bendy" necks on them so I aimed them how I wanted them. Seems to work.

Agree with @Pistondog. You want cooling fan over the aquarium (DT) where it is more effective.

Seems like placement over DT could be more effective, but not very good looking at all especially with our lights highlighting the fans. Any recommendation for an in cabinet sump type fan?

I am looking for one, did you find it?

Tune makes a great fan and it water proof. You can dump as much water as you want on it.

No I did not find a good sump fan. I bought the biggest and most powerful I could find that would fit my sump. Ugly as hell, but at least it's hidden and not hanging over my tank. lol. At the end of the day, it actually didn't do much for my temperature for my system in my humidity in my home. I had to go chiller route but still use the fan only to help evaporation for a kalk reactor.
