What would you recommend for an ATO for my 10 gallon nano build. I was wondering if anyone currently has an ATO and recommend one to me. Looking for something not too expensive but not to cheap. Thanks!

Best bang for your buck. Have been using Tunze ATO's for a few years. Just pulled my nano out from my storage that had been sitting for over a year and still working like a charm. I have run them dry many times from my own negligence with no ill effects and they are still going strong. Go with Tunze.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll take a look. What size is your nano tank and how did you set it up?

It's on an 8 gallon frag tank right now (check out my build thread - click on my badge and you'll see it in my tank). Prior to that I have used it in a Evo 13.5. I have never had a malfunction with it and use the full size Tunze ATO on my bigger tanks. Super simple set up - attach the switch to your tank via the magnetic float valve and then throw the pump into an ATO reservoir.

I made a diy setup with a float switch and solenoid valve. the valve is normally closed and water pressure keeps it closed. it's gravity fed.

The reviews on BRS website seem like basically all 1 Star reviews for this ATO. They say it fails after a month

The best ATO on a small nano is a 2 liter bottle of diet coke filled with RO/DI water that you manually add daily. If you go on vacation for a week or more. Just add a tad bit more with cover and when you come home you'll still be spot on. LOL Cheap, easy and effective. PS ( must be Diet Coke bottle ) cuz I don't like Pepsi haha

Those that are most prone to post a review are those that have something bad to say. I have had mine for 2.5 years and it has been in saltwater for about a year total. I stand behind it 100% - but it is up to you. I think it is the most accurate and durable ATO on the market but in the end; it is your decision.

I like reefbreaders ato. It’s cheaper and has everything you need. Definitely a quality ato for the price.

Tunze 3155 for any tank imo. Check out reviews of the 3152 on BRS. I wouldn't touch it.

I don’t have any experience with any other ATO. I was going to buy a cheaper ATO for a new nano build, but ended up with a 3155 after reading reviews of all other ATOs. I figure if I ever came home to 5 gallons of water on the floor, I’d pay $200 to turn back time.
