I was looking at the tunze nano ato but it has mixed reviews. What are some other good ones that are recommended for under $100?

I'm using the tunze nano in our 32 with no issues. I have been looking at the smart ato and tossing it around for our 9 gallon RFA tank. Still undecided.

Yeah I’m considering the tunze nano. What is your setup for it? I was thinking on putting the pump in a 5 gallon bucket of RO water and then putting the sensor and return line in the tank. Or should I put those in one of the chambers? My chamber 2 has media basket and refugium and chamber 3 has heater. Thanks!

i have that one and i am very happy with it. 1 optical sensor to fill when low, 1 optical to stop from over filling.
How would you set it up in a biocube 32?

I just use a cheap $2.00 water jug because it fits perfectly in the bottom of the stand. Routed the line out of the back of the stand into the 3rd chamber (return pump chamber). Nothing special.

Tunze nano on my 25 nano.
Its now on my 45 frag system amd going strong 3.5 years later.
Even ran kalk on the nano for 2 years and still using the same pump.

I'm using one of those 5$ ATO Chinese things for my QT where you just screw it on a bottle with RO in it and turn it upside down.
Works great and cost is nothing.

Where do you keep sensor

On the wall separating chamber 2 & 3. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow, lights are already out.

I have the Duetto and IceCap ATO. Honestly, can't go wrong with any of them, they all essentially do the same thing.

Is the water level in your chambers lower than your main display water?

So like how would that work when filling up the main display. Or do you fill up in the back chambers?

I have the Duetto like the above mentions in my 32 Biocube and it works perfectly for me, $120 for it though. I bought a 5 gallon jug on Amazon and drilled a hole in it for the hose. Sensor in the 3rd chamber, works perfectly for water changes when the pump goes off the chamber fills so no worry about flooding the tank with RODI water.

I mounted the control on the left (Blue LED) and have the jug at the base of the stand

White hose on the left is the RODI fill line, black cable going down to the 3rd chamber is the sensor.

This one:

I have a Cube 20 AIO with the Duetto ATO. I have the optical sensor in the return chamber and I fill into that chamber that chamber also. I just set up the ATO yesterday, but it sounds like it's been filling for a while this morning. When the water is pumped into the return, the level rises but then it's just pumped back into the main display. Is this normal? I set it up the ATO identically to what I watched on a waterbox challenge video. Where would you place the sensor in an AIO, if not in the return chamber?
