Hello everyone!
I am trying to choose which ATO will be the best.... deciding between the tunze osmolator 3155 or the Neptune ATK.... anyone have experience with these... looking for the most reliable.
Thanks

My personal openion Go with tunze.
Atk been very iffy since its release till now. There is an atk v2, but I would not believe any claims about how it is until its actually released and people use it.

Avast makes a really reliable ATO. Spent weeks researching and reading reviews on various brands and models. It was a about the only one I found that didn’t have a single negative review. I’ve had zero issue with it. Works off of pressure. So there’s no worries of anything getting hung up. And no optical eyes/sensors to clean either.
Tunze makes good stuff though. IME.

Tunze. I've used the Osmolator 3155 for over a decade and also the nano version. Support is great and it just works.

Tunze. I've used the Osmolator 3155 for a decade and the nano version as well. Both just work and Roger, their US rep, is amazing with support.

Tunze 3155 hands down the best I’ve ever owned

The ATK one fell off the back of my sump and there it sits. Maybe weak magnets.
I have used the Tunze 3155 for years.

3155 optical sensor failed on me in the first year of use. The nano version I was using has been rock solid for 10 years.

Currently waiting on @rvitko with a response to my issue. If I do have to buy a new one, I think I will be looking at the ATK V2.

The ATK is loud as all get out, they have the ATK 2 coming out very soon and I hear it addresses the loud pump and weak magnets.

I have both. ATK has not giving me the issues others have had with the sensors going bad, but I've only had it for about 8-9 months. They both work great, but the ATK is a lot quieter than the Tunze IMHO.

Seems like the tunze definitely is a fan favorite! Has anyone had any negative experience with th ATK?
ATK almost caused me a disaster.
The fmm lock down which render the controlled devices useless.
Lots of people had issues with sensor leaving or locking down..etc

As I’ve said this in another thread recently, discussing this exact same topic...

1) Spectrapure ULPC - ATO

2) Tunze 3155

3) Avast Marine ATO

I’ve owned all three and ranked them accordingly. You really can’t go wrong with any of my listed choices IMO. They are all very reliable and have stellar reputations and track records to back them up.

Neptune’s optical sensors have a poor track record as they seem to get fouled quite easily or seem to randomly quit working altogether. These issues are well documented not only for the ATK, but for the DDR dosing reservoirs as well. They recently released the V2 optical sensors, but the jury is still out on their reliability as they are fairly new to the market. This has been my experience with a DDR that I’ve owned in the past that had to be mailed back (on my own dime from CT to CA) for optical sensor replacement under warranty. As I’ve said in a Neptune sponsor’s forum thread I started... I really hope they offer to sell a V2 optical sensor replacement kit for people who own DDRs with the old unreliable optical sensors.

I completely agree. I replaced my Tunze with the Spectrapure, on my big tank, and still run Tunzes on my nano tanks.
