Best biopellet brand

I feed 2 to 3 times a day(one healthy pinch of pellets or a small block of reef frenzy) each feeding on top of adding a half to fill sheet of nori.

I think I have 15 fish right now including tangs, tusk, niger t and monos.

Iv been using bio crush for 4 weeks now haven't seen a drop In nitrate yet but it's still early however all my algea has disapeared since adding the pellets and all I'm seeing are good signs.I know bio crush works because I work at a fish store and we have clients that have used them for a while with amazing results so it's the only pellets we carry now and more and more people are using them around here.we had a client with a 300 gallon system with horrible algea problems you couldn't even see In the tank it was nothing but algea so one of the guys I work with added pellets to his system and in 3 months the tank was alge free and looked amazing so that's why I chose bio crush because I know they work well

I run BRS. I can not swear to the truth of this, but I was told that the current BRS pellets are Ecobak.

absolutely not true. Not even close... and if a company does claim that it sounds like it's time for a lawyer letter ;)

Jon, this is good to know. I was at your talk at the NJRC Frag Swap this past summer and found your talk very informative. It was someone there who told me that BRS stuff was your stuff. Good to hear from the source that it’s not. Although I’ve recently purchased some BRS biopellets (with this misinformation), I’ll be back with Ecotech. Thanks for responding.

That was a great time in NJ... regarding the origins of ecoBAK I will go over it again.

A few years ago the original European product was introduced to the hobby. I thought it was a great idea and started to research biodegradable polymers suitable for our purposes. At that time, no one knew what was in the European product so all of my research was original. We were the second company to introduce a bio-pellet product, the first US company. Later as we all found out what was in the original European product (and by extension most of the other brands) it became obvious that my initial research gave us a different polymer than the others. We've worked with the polymer manufacturer closely and have a unique product. If anyone claims to use the same raw material it's simply not true. In fact I applied for a patent based on the raw material and it's utility.

@Jon Warner - quick question on Ecobak Bio Pellets - This my first time using Bi Pellets I normally use RowaPhos instead but could not get my po4 below 0.04ppm, so I thought I will give this pellets a shot in my BR-70 Reef Octopus Pellet reactor. I soaked them over night in RODI water per instructions but still have quite a few floating at the top. Is this normal or what? Also, only used like a 3rd of what ecobak what recommends.

I got my reactor up and running W/ EcoBak Bio Pellets and I would like to get some input on the tumbling effect. Let me know your thoughts if I need to tumble the pellets more or less after watching this short video I made.
Also, I only added about 250mls since this is my first time running pellets and last question, when do I add more and how much - 50mls more??

Don't worry about the floating pellets... they will sink soon. The tumble looks a little aggressive, but with time it will slow down as the pellets are coated with biofilm.

Good Luck!
