Best black box for the money

Hello all

Looking to get an idea of what black box leds have worked for other people and conversely which have not. I’m leaning towards the mars aqua 165W but want to see what people are having success with. This will Be for a 75 gal mixed reef!!!

I own four of them on two different tanks.

I went through 5 other Lights and yes , big difference in growth.

I have them Mars units, three of them. But I modified them to mimic the SB reeflights. Growth is outstanding.

There are plenty of people of who have great results with bb of various makes. I started with galaxyhydro which did fine but then switched to SB and I saw real noticeable results.

For the money, you get a better spectrum, better heatsinks and a USA 2 year warranty.

Yep, that would cover nicely.

would 1 x 12" be enough for a 40B?

A 40 breeder is 36" long. One black box is 16" long and covers 24"x 24".

If you used one black box, I would recommend pulling the lenses off the outside edges. Easily done. Would extend the range out to say 32-34" coverage.
