Best Blenny

Jewel blenny! No idea how it will adapt but it will and should (I have not kept ponies yet) be cool.

Lol, the jeweled blenny, aka the lawnmower blenny, is one of the most aggressive there is. So, he's a big NO

I'm partial to starry blennies but I wouldn't trust them around ponies..

Molly Miller blennies have cool personalities and are generally not as aggressive as other large blennies from my experience. (They do look a little derpy)

You could also go with a hectors goby.. they pick at hair algae as well as sift a bit of sand.

I would be cautious with any blenny that has algae scraping tendencies. I would be afraid that they might scrape the pony's skin or at least stress them with harassment.

I have heard of some folks keeping small mollies with their seahorses. It requires removing the large adult mollies so they don't harrass the seahorses. And there is the saltwater acclimation process to contend with as well.

I think quiet natured gobies would be a good choice but I realize that you are hoping for some help with algae too and most gobies are not big algae eaters.

We ended up getting a Tail Spot Blenny, probably the most shy, peaceful algae eating blenny there is. He is breaking in the tank for us!
