Best Calcium reactor media and why.

Oh darn. I meant to say media lol

That has to have already been hashed out before on here? Reborn usually wins best bang for the buck.

Just trying to get an idea guys

Thanks yeah I asked it to be updated by admins lol

I haven't tried them all, but I really liked Reborn from Two Little Fishies.
My reactors had no issue dissolving it, when they had problems dissolving media like ARM Coarse.
And it's actual fossilized coral skeleton, so it should be providing exactly what the corals need.

Another vote for Reborn. I mix a little Remag in with it to keep the magnesium up.

+1 I used Aquamedic dolomite to do this as well, usually mix it at a 1:10 ratio with reborn.

When did A.R M switch from "coral bones" to mined chunks of calcium carbonate trash for their course media? because I remember buying cartons of "coral bones" ARM back in the day.

Does anybody know the Phosphate content for the three main Calcium Reactor Media.

ARM Coarse: >0.10ppm
Reborn: ?
Tropic Eden: ?

I use a combo of ARM extra coarse (I’m trying to use it up, extra coarse is a PITA) and Tropic Eden. I’d be interested to know the Po4 levels for each, that’d be an interesting BRS investigation.

How would one even go about figuring that out?
