Best calcium reactor media

They make some of the most expensive reactors i've seen, so that makes sense.

Wow dastaco looks good. The calcium reactors are more expensive then what I was going to buy but it is almost automatic. Does anyone have experience with dastaco reactors?

I have used both ARM and Reborn, it fact I have used 2 of the ARM small and large. I found that Reborn will give much more Alk. then ARM. When I tested my tank water when running ARM Calcium was high ( like 450 plus ) but Alk. was like 8 Alk. Reborn was like 425 and Alk 12. Theses numbers I show are going by memory so they are not absolute. I also remember seeing more growth with reborn. It is also wise to add some Mag. into chamber as a small boost to keep Mag levels up. I removed my reactor a while ago as I was doing some rearranging but will be putting back up shortly and plane on using the Reborn with some of their Mag additive. I also like the fact that CO2 bubbles can get caught up in the holes that are in the Coral rubble which helps with contact time.

I have decided to go with dastaco because I am getting thier reactor and thier reactor can have destacó media only. If the enfluent ph is too low ill plug it into a pile of reborn.

Yes. They are very good and I don't think hugely expensive when you consider what you get, a decent peri pump, etc.

You can use other media. I think I'm using ARM (I'd have to check - started it up quite some time ago).

Pacific Sun have just introduced one that works on the same principle but using an optical sensor instead of a float valve and it's a bit cheaper.

I don't think anyone who has used a Dastaco has any issues whatsoever and you don't see them in the classifieds all that often.

You shouldn't have issues with low pH and you won't regret getting one.

Can anyone confirm this?
If I go with DaStaCo/ dastaco medie is it true that I need to ad trace element since DaStaCo medie is only adding calcium, KH, and magnesium to the tank.
Is this correct?
