Hi all - I'm re-building a 200g and I was thinking about adding some ceramic bio media to my sump as I'm not going to have hundreds of pounds of rock at the start. I was curious if anyone had a preference on which was best?

Also - I am setting up a 30g biocube as a QT tank and I was thinking I'd keep a bunch of smaller bio media pieces in the main tank, then just transfer over when I need to use the QT. Then, toss the bio media when I'm done with whatever meds etc. I've seen people using those cheap loofah type things? Would that work? I could pile 20 of 'em into a bag in the sump and then pull 'em out/replace as needed.

Or maybe a bunch of the ceramic balls? But that would get spendy to just toss after use.

My main goal with the replaceable media is to be able to bleach the QT between fish and have bio media ready to go right away.

Thanks!

I like marinepure balls, some people say they leach aluminum, I haven’t had any issues.
