Best choice to reduce light spill?

Hi! I have a Reefer 250 in my living room, and right now it is lit with two led cubes. The light spill is pretty big when it gets dark outside, the room is completely blue.
I am thinking of buying the Maxspect rsx 150 to get some blockage of light spill above the tank.
Is this a good idea? Does a led fixture block light better then the open cube light?

Light spill is going to be dependant on the height which u mount it.
Unaware of what you mean by led vs open cube.
Ive built boxes of thin wood to help direct light downwards.

Okey, by Cube I mean a light like below:

The Maxspect seems to have screens on the sides, while the cube is just a lens, I was thinking the Maxspect would be better at blocking the spill?

Easiest way to cut light spill is lights with reflectors not lenses .

Not the inly brand and depends on what kind of spill.
Some can be adjusted with simple height adj.

Yes exactly, that was my question, would the Maxspect fixture shown in the first post be better at isolating and blocking light spill, then a cube led shown in the third post?

My 2 cents and I can be so wrong is best way to eliminate light spill is have a Hood over the tank. I have red sea LED's and ai primes and depending on the angle you look at it from I can find some light spill. But I don't mind I personally like it. It sent the mood in the rooms the tanks are in.
