Best clean way to Block Light

Maybe leave you rloghts hanging and just build a three sided box that sits on the top of the tank blocking the light. Make it out of something light so its easy to remove for maintenance. This way when you mve the "canopy" your lights stay in place. I know how hard it is to do any kind of cleaning in the tank without the lights still there.

You could build hanging canopy out of acrylic like I did, clean look and easy to work around it.

What kind of acrylic did you use and how did you attach the pieces.

I just used a piece of aluminum foil
