Just saw a video by BRS about heaters (BRS160 Playlist Week 8 I think)
Showed that Ehiem Jagers has a variation of +-3 degrees! So I was thinking about a new heater, in the video, the Cobalt NeoTherm has a pretty much static temperature variation! Is it worth the switch, or is 3 degrees an okay value of variance.

I think the more stable the better. I have been using a Neotherm and couldn’t be happier. Very reliable and consistent.

I have a Neotherm also. It has been pretty consistent. Is your Ehiem Jagers on an APEX or controller?

I have had 2 finnex heaters and they are rock solid. I got the ones with the internal thermometer and will be replacing them soon to avoid any future failures. They are currently at 2 years old with no issues.

If you don't have a controller, I think the neotherm heaters are by far the best option.

I just had a neotherm fail this past week but thankfully it was just for my saltwater storage. saw it as an opportunity to switch out to another ehiem jager.

I've had a Cobalt NeoTherm on my tank for over a year and it is rock steady. IT only varies by .1 degree up and down from 78. It's the only tank heater I'll buy from now on.

Finnex controller with two eheim heaters have kept my tank at 78-79 for the last three years. I will always use a controller now.
