Hi guys,

Planning on putting together a 125 or 150 gallon tank. My first saltwater tank. What are some good LPS / SPS / Soft corals to start with in tanks that large?

Also, what are some corals that are your favorites to keep? If you were starting from scratch which corals would you want in your tank?

Thanks,

Tom

I was just responding to what I would do if I started over again lol.

Starter corals I would recommend would be any frogspawn or hammers, acans, zoas/palys, ricordia or Yuma mushrooms, button corals. Lots of softies and lps will be fine. Just be carful with the ones that will take over. Xenia, gsp and some of the plain mushrooms.

This is awesome! Thanks, I checked out some of the acros you mentioned too. They look great. Lol I'm not sure why I deferred from saltwater to begin with and started a freshwater tank first, I feel like nothing comes close to saltwater.

Ice stag, green slimer, tort are good too.

If you have a decent LFS around you go pick up some of their bargain stuff and see how it does. Don’t go out spending money on a Walt Disney frag or something like that though
