Not looking for anything insane, just a 50-90 gallon aquarium which is taller than all the others. What builders have you used for your custom aquariums and how were they throughout the build?
edit: east coast pref. to keep shipping costs down but if there are any exceptional ones elsewhere please let me know.

Reef Savvy would be the top of the line.

If you have a local reef shop that you feel comfortable with, then I'd ask them to quote me a Planet Aquariums custom.

Coast to Coast will certainly provide a nice custom tank....but very costly. I went with Glass-Cages, and even though they had mixed reviews, I'm very happy with my recent purchase. Interesting business model in doing truck runs to various US locations every three months.

I was wondering if anyone had used glass cages , how was the whole process from start to finish?

The delivery date was changed twice, both because of bad weather.....beyond their control. The only thing that bothered me about the whole process was how the delivery guy dragged other tanks around the truck to get my tank out. My son and I both stared at each other in disbelief. Otherwise I'm extremely happy. That said, there was some other guy there in the parking lot ready to pick up his new tank, and it wasn't on the truck. I know if that was me, I'd be PO'ed.

There's also customaquariums.com and advancedacrylics.com. custom does glass only, great group of folks and fast to respond.

Check out crystal dynamics also. They’re here in Cali, but do amazing work. Custom aquariums is also fantastic, but pay attention to their warranty requirements. You must purchase and use a stand from them ONLY to get the lifetime warranty. Just FYI. Responses and customer service are top notch though, no doubt about that.

+AGE

Anything custom from a top notch place will be over 1k after shipping etc. Just fyi b/c I saw you're looking for a 50-90g tank. PM me and I can give you the email to the guy I worked with at AGE.

I am on my second glasscages aquarium with no issues. The first was a 125 gallon drop off and the second ( and my current tank) is a 180 gallon cube. I would recommend them.

So many put down G.C. aquariums, but if proper support is there (stand with full support and foam they are great. They will build to your specs. I know the owners and have bought many of their tanks including my custom 65g complete low iron on all sides. Probably my favorite tank of all time.

The previously mentioned are exceptional as well.

Dont take this the wrong way....

But given your small 90g request.....a custom build is small potatoes to most mfgrs you reach out to.

Custom tank mfgrs want large high profit jobs like making 1,000-10,000g tanks for a public bizs like casinos, airports, universities, hospitals, etc etc

Sorta like asking a custom home builder to build you a backyard shed while they are working on million dollar homes.

I needed custom recess ceiling lights in my house and kept getting outrageously high bids for canned lighting. Frustrated I call one of them on the carpet about pricing and they said they are swamped with $10,000 to $30,000 jobs. My custom lighting would take a couple of days off a "larger more profitable" job....so I would have to pay a premium

Small custom work requests come with sky high quotes

.
