Been battling algae and my cuc + vibrant are finally making a dent. Annnnnd now I've got cyano. What's your best ideas? I don't want to go the Chemiclean route.
55 g up about 14 months now but did do a sand change in Nov after an apparently sick bta from the lfs died. So, re-cycling. Exhaustive list follows; ammonia 0 phos 2 nitrite .1 nitrate 20 ph 7.9 alk 4 calcium 400 kh 8.2 temp 78, last w/c 2 days ago 10% using instant ocean reef crystals, salinity 1.025. Have a protein skimmer, uv, and a canister filter, no room for a sump. Running dual 48" ic pro reef leds. Worth mentioning that the tank does get sunlight but I have no other viable location for it. Occupants all growing like weeds: large foxface, 4 clowns 2 cardinals, large common starfish, pincushion urchin, horseshoe crab, 2 sallies 2 mithrax 1 emerald, 4 turbos, 3 peppermint shrimp, and one pencil urchin I can never find. Corals: zoas, palys, gorgonian and a ricordea all doing very well but have lost some sps except for one cyphastrea. Ghp struggling Also tons of hydromedusa but figure they'll go away eventually. Don't seem to be bothering anybody and the crabs like to snack on them. Using vibrant 6mml every 3 days and running phosquard.
