Hey everyone,
It has been awhile since I have posted. I just got back into saltwater. I have a 40 gallon IM AIO that I am wanting to upgrade the pump possibly. I am looking for more flow and hoping to keep a powerhead/wave maker out of the display. What pumps have you guys used that you like with good power? Currently I have the bigger of the two might jets. I just feel like it is weak.

Is this an IM 40 long or an older IM 40 cube/lagoon? You are currently running the 568gph MightyJet?

Have you tried running two of them, one for each return nozzle?

It is the cube. Yes it is the 568gph.
I have not thought about it. I actually am thinking that I need to clean it prior to doing this as I don’t think it’s been cleaned. I bought it used. Any good ideas on cleaning?

I've got some citric acid (food grade) from amazon. I can't remember the concentration I use, but basically dump some into RODI water in a bucket and let it run for a while. When I did this, my MightyJet 326gph pump was putting out better flow, as it started going slower after 8 months of use. I'd probably start doing this every 3 months. Reminds me...

I did take it out today and just scrub it down and it is giving me way better flow. I also cleaned the tubing up to the flow nozzles. It made a big difference.
