Trying to find a product to insure I don't get pest in my new setup. What's the best products for dipping? Do you use more than one?

I personally use Revive but am open to try other things like Coral RX.

I have always used Tropic Marin Pro Coral Care and has worked great. I ran out and took advantage of a Black Friday BRS sale and bought Coral RX. I used it for first time on some LPS with no prob. Right before Christmas I used it with an amazing order of SPS frags I purchased from Adam at Battlecorals as well as an order of hammers I purchase from Gonzos. All corals were expertly packed with heat packs and were amazing looking in the bags they were shipped in. All frags were dipped with same dose, same way and same times. By end of day I had one dead acro I frag and all other SPS were either totally or close to totally bleached but the hammers were not affected at all. When I contacted Adam he told me coral RX is to hard on sps but good for LPS. He said he also lost many sps after a coral RX dip. It's been two weeks now and some Cora's are coming back but not where they were yet and some are still bleached out but are stabile with PE. I did lose one more frag that didn't recover. Thought I should chime in with my experience. Adam uses Bayer on his SPS.

BTW Rev, I enjoy seeing your posts because when I do I'm always reminded of Jeremiah 29:11 and I feel comfort and peace. Thanks

I use CoralRx, but have known people to use Melaflix for red bugs with success.

Is there any bugs that the Tropical Marin pro or coral Rx do not target? I'm glad you talked about the coral RX being rough on sps. Good info!

I have used ReVive in the past and liked it, but I have now switched to Bayer Advanced...

When using Coral RX...(which is safe on all corals) you must be careful when dipping multiple pieces in the same batch. The pests that eject from the coral release a toxin that can be harmful to the coral. This is why the directions tell you to swish the coral in the bucket to make sure all dying pests are removed. For best results...only dip 1-2 corals per batch for maximum effectiveness.

Well for me, I will only use what I used previously or go into the Bayer Advanced as I was recommended by a very respected and reputable SPS vendor/sponsor on this forum. I will use the coral RX on LPS.

What is the dipping formula for Bayer advanced? (How many ML per gallon?)

This was my procedure:

10ml per cup of tank water
Dip for 10 minutes
Rinse with clean tank water for 15 minutes
Back in tank

I did this with every coral in my tank with zero problems and they were back to normal within a hour.

I was using revive but it seems to be pretty hard on the corals, I'm using Coral RX pro not and have not found a pest that survives it. I have the Bayer advanced but have not used it yet still a little nervous about using that on my corals but gonna try it here soon.

From what I understand coral rx does not kill red bug eggs so I switched to Bayer and have been using it for months with no problems at all

ReVive its the choice of Vivid aquariums as they said on youtube however I'm from Australia but they sell it here too hope this helps

I've tried a few different iodine-based coral dips over the years but have been using Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure for almost 5 years without a problem. I dip every new coral i get religiously with it.
