I like the flex seal idea [emoji1417]
I used regular silicone on the bottom portion of my tank stand, wherever the woods met and around the whole bottom to act as a catch basin if it ever overflowed. That way if it did it would stay in the stand.
I also did my own canopy so I'd have full access to the entire tank if anything happens, wasn't a fan of the normal cabinets seen on most hoods

Very nice. What I did on the bottom was stand up 1x4 & screwed them in to the 2x4 frame with a 3/4 inch bottom the brushed the whole area with the Flex Seal. This gives me a nice sized area to hold water if something goes wrong.
