Best Dosing pump?

Just a quick note. This guys work a little different than most the regular dosing pumps, they're infusion pumps. This means that they flow consistently at a given rate (0.1-99 ml an hour) 24/7. You also define a dispensing volume i.e. how much total needs to be dosed up to 9999 ml. As you can see my containers are shy of 2000ml so every time i refill i reset the fluid to be pumped to 2000ml and i know how much is left at any given moment. As he said, i wouldn't use any other pump!

Side benefit is that the initial cost was less than $140 which makes them also much more economical than hobby grade pumps!

I'm actually going to be a nurse I graduate in June so this is kind of awesome ! lol is it confusing to use? I dose 20 ml every other day of alk and calcium. Would you be able to explain how you would set it up on the plum?

Im really liking my kore 5th the strirrer really does it for me. It allows me to dose things i never could have before

I followed @twilliard 's advice in July and i can attest to the fact that there is nothing more reliable than these buggers. I have been thanking him since [emoji4] They're made in a way to make sure they don't harm humans they can definitely handle a reef. Here's my setup

Nice! I love to see people having these in action :)

Since it's a continuous flow pump, you would just set it to dose 10ml (which would be around .42ml per hr)every day instead of 20ml every other day.

The trick is finding the cassettes LOL
As a note they last over a year depending on what you send through it.
For instance the triton 3a and 3b mix is not a good idea to send through the cassette ;)

More details on the cassettes?

More details on the cassettes?
What kind of details are we after?
Here are a few tips that come to mind.
Do not use a mixture that can crystalize, it will ruin the cassette (triton 3a-3b mixture)
Do not send amino's through them. It will build up algae within the cassette if the dosing range is too low. Dilute the mixture 3:1 and increase the rate.
Best tip, dilute any mixture 3:1 as a low rate will eventually foul the cassette.
For the first few days of use you may get inclusion errors, this will go away. Pull the white plunger on the back, tap and roll the cassette to move any air bubbles up and out. Annoying at first but after a day or 2 you will never have to do that again.
*When you find cassettes buy more than you need!* these guys are hard to find. I keep a whole case of them ;)

I would be dosing 2 part. Either homemade or Reef Fusion. Any concerns about these fouling the cassettes?

That is exactly what I am dosing. reef fusion 1 and 2 no issue at all (3rd is H2O2) mine are diluted 3:1 to keep a current rate of 1ml/hr

Although I haven't ran mine, they just arrived today. GHL 2.1 Did extensive research and couldn't find any info that led me to believe this was a bad purchase. Couldn't imagine my tank crashing due to a doser malfunction which I've read on ever doser besides the GHL. Just my .02

Hey reefers,

I been dosing alk calcium and mag by hand and it's been ok but I think a dosin pump will make it even more stable. I can't spend a lot of money unfortunately so are there any decent pumps for cheap? How is the jebao dp2 ? That's around my price range. Is there anything else around this price range that is better than the jebao? Thanks for all answers in advance !

As cool as those iv infusion pumps are, I have to say I'm pretty happy with my Jebao DP-4. It has held its calibration for going on 12 months now and it has been very reliable. I've experienced no failures whatsoever. If I had to set up another tank today, even though I now know about the iv pumps (and Mrs. GillsGoneWild is a nurse with a ridiculous amount of little abbreviations after her name, so she could operate those in her sleep!) I would definitely opt for another Jebao pump. The Kore 5th unit is awesome, but I can buy more coral and dosing additives with the money I save buying the Jebao unit.

If you dose 2 part, wouldn't there be a problem when both are being dosed at the same times continuously? Could this problem be avoided by controlling with an Apex or other controller to alternate the calc and then the alk?

It is dripped in such small amounts that it is never an issue.

Currently using the neptune DOS, But have been looking around for an additional system that can do low daily dosing. I think this is just what I need, Thanks "twilliard" for the info.

Any day! It's awesome at what it does and reliability can't be beat.

I use Ghl doser 2 units they are built like a tank and can be programmed to dose down to .1ml. They are tiny and take up little room in my stand.
I have three that I use one master and two slave units.
The master does Balling method dosing First slave does Auto water changes a gallon a day and ATO functions off two photo sensors.
Second slave does additives that might need to be dosed once or every other day.
