Okay reefers. We all experience nuisance algae issues in our tanks at some point. We deal with it in many ways, from natural options (fish, snails, hermit crabs, etc.) to manmade pieces of equipment. It is the latter that is the focus of this poll and thread. What do you feel is the best single piece of equipment for battling nuisance algae?

Old toothbrush. Scrub scrub scrub. Let the crud go into the filter sock. Do a waterchange, making sure to siphon the sand a bit and swap out the filter sock when you’re done.

Suffered through a huge GHA outbreak and the two best thing I found was a tree shaped brush with 1/2 fine nylon bristles. The fine long bristles captured gobs of GHA. The other was a toothbrush taped to the end of a 5/8 piece of tubing. The tooth brush was bent upward so I could scrub the rock/glass and quickly siphon out the algae. Did this while doing a water change.
