Best Food for Anemones?

Hi All,

A couple months ago I picked up a Rainbow BTA from Seattle Corals, it’s small so I’ve been feed small pieces of shrimp... I just picked up a much large Rainbow BTA and Rose BTA from a local R2R member. Just wondering what is the best things to feed them all for health, growth & color.

Mysis, krill, silver sides, or no food.

No food? Basically allow to feed from water column?

I heard the more broke down it is the less energy it takes to break it down. Anyways I dont feed mine as it seems they never respond positively to it

I feed mine shrimp or littleneck clams from the grocery store

Yes it adds unwaanted nitrates and phosphates so its kinda doesnt make since to do it

Silverside can cause bacterial infection in some anemones. The thought is quality is not good. It's best to get fresh seafood from supermarket and cut it and store yourself.

That’s what I’ve done. Get a couple small shrimp clean and cut into cubes.

Btw , I have over 20 anemones. I don't feed any

3 of my 4 reside at the top of the tank. they get fed Mysis, brine shrimp, oyster eggs or R.O.E depending on what the fish are getting that day. the 4th is in a spot I can't reach to feed. it seems to be fine picking up whatever.
