I do not know what your problem is.. I never said the article is wrong, I said I didn't read it. I just said beware of what you read because there have not been many test done on nutrition in corals and most is opinion. This is the second time you have attacked me after giving my opinion..
You and I have completely different definitions of "attack" it seems. You immediate bash about.com for being a non reef site and say nothing about the substance of the article which is really the only thing that matters here. If you had read the article, and had something you disagreed with in the article, and provided links to back up why you disagree with it, all would be fine and I would commend you for correcting the misinformation, but you didn't do that. Why even mention the website the info is posted on? Isn't it about the content, not the hosting provider that really matters?

I have not read that article nor do I know who those people are but about.com is really not know for their reef info.
You say there have not been many test done on nutrition in corals, which I disagree with, there are literally dozens of scientific articles written on just that topic and I linked to the most recent one. It is fine to post your opinion, but you can't get mad when someone else proves your opinion wrong by providing actual scientific fact with links to articles, that is just sour grapes. I guess shame on me for giving my opinion with scientific articles to back what I am saying.

Here is another article worth reading, but I suspect you have already because in your own words, "I either own or have owned pretty much every publication on this hobby since well almost the beginning".

Do you even read your links or understand them? You posted a link that supports exactly what I am saying. Your arguments are always links and graphs. I debated based on your quotes from the article you put in your post. About.com article is wrong because we know azoo corals get 100 percent of their nutrition from food.

I know how to Google too and post links..... Tell me in your own words why I am wrong and what exactly I said that is wrong? dozens of articles is not allot based on how many different corals there are?

shame on you for giving you opinion? you didn't give an opinion you posted links? whats funny is your links support exactly what i said:
Problem is zooxanthellae provide the coral with glucose which is basically sugar, I really doubt that is enough food for a coral or would be good for them

There is nothing wrong of using links to support your opinion just give one and if you are going to tell me I am wrong tell my why So at least I know what I am debating with you.

Feeding a coral a certain pray does not tell you how much nutrition a coral uses, it tells you how much of that pray it captures and the size.

Edit:

You also cant look at a specific study on a specific few corals and expect all corals to be the same when there are hundreds of different corals out there. Anyone in the hobby long enough knows that different corals have different requirements.
