Best for refuge?

What is the best combination of algae for a sump refuge for nutrient export? I’ve read several different articles about several different kinds and I was just curious what yours was ? Thanks. I have cheto now and wanted to add maybe two more types ty. Merry Christmas!

People usually use one or the other, not multiple types. I would like to hear what others have done!

Chaeto, caulerpa algae are used most. Some use macro algaes.

I have seen many combos in one fuge , I guess to get mixed export .. not sure. Lol

Hey Phil,

We would highly recommend sea lettuce. It grows super fast and can be fed back to the tank. Red ogo is another favorite, it grows fast, tangs love it, and looks pretty!

Hi Phil, thank you for your patience. We do sell both of these species of macroalgae and yes, they will feed your fish (any fish that eats nori will eat this macroalgae)!
