Best gfo for a heavily bioload

What do forum members think of RowaPhos? I haven't looked into what's in it in detail but isn't it supposed to be ferric hydroxide, not GFO, or is that just marketing? It seems pretty powerful, maybe too much so.

I've not tested it chemically, but I don't expect it is fundamentally different. Like GAC, the issue is available surface area. I ran some tests on Rowaphos and a few others a number of years ago and didn't see vast differences between them in terms of phosphate binding.

So, marketing, then. There is so much unsubstantiated voodoo in this hobby, it drives me crazy!
