Hey I just filled up a 75 gallon tank and have an old wet/dry sump that isn’t cutting it and need some decent filtration until i can get a good sump. What are some good choices for a HOB filter?

I have been using the top one on my 75 for some time.. The Bio wheel is pretty useless except to tell you when the filter is plugged as it stops turning..

Does it do a decent job with filtration?

Agreed, I use a seventy five on my forty gallon and it works great basically indestructible

I have the marine land penguins as well, I started with 2 for a 75 gallon, =150 gallon, than added the marine land 400 for extra filtering and to pre seed for the future seahorse aquarium

I own 3 Seachem Tidal HOBs. They selfprime in the event of a power outage and have plenty of capacity for your choice of media.

I use the marineland penguin also, great cheap filtration. Amazon sells the cartridges for really cheap I have them set up on auto delivery. The run just over $1 each. They also sell the reusable cartridges that you put your own floss into.
