I also have the Hawaiian black in my 55g and I love it. Yes it's magnetic, any real volcanic rock has some iron content but it has not affected my water quality. Just an annoyance when I drop a magnetic fitting LOL.
Best place for any rock, KP Aquatics. There's just no comparison. Beautiful beautiful rock. I had the usual caribsea, threw it all out once I found KP. The difference in the tank and water quality is amazing.
