I have a 60 gallon cube (24" square). I just purchased an Apex, and would like to get a hearer that I can control with the Apex unit. What would the people of R2R recommend?

Thanks,

Erik

Just purchased Cobalt Neo-Therm heaters link to my Apex and they are doing a great job.

I actually have a 60 gallon cube too. I use 2 eheim jager 150 watt heaters. The reason I use 2 is because if one fails the other will be able to hold the tank at a decent temperature instead of crashing the tank overnight in the winter. They haven't failed me yet. Eheim is a quality brand.

Any heater you trust is going to work and AFAIK they all have their own controller. Set your apex to turn it on at the low point and off at you high point. Then set the heater dial to shut off at 80-82 as a fail safe in case the apex temp probe goes bad.

I have been using three 250 watt eheim jager's on a controller for years.

Most all heaters have there own thermostats but the Apex will still control them and also provides backup in case the thermostat were to stick in the on position. Set you heater at 80. Have my Apex to turn on at 77 and off at 78.
