Best Heater to Buy

I know there will be mixed opinions on this topic, but what brand has the best heater and controller for my 125 gallon ?

Love my Neo-Therms and would recommend them in a second, Finnex and Ehiem are great as well

Regardless of the heaters (I prefer Eheim Jagers...although they are long...glass twice as thick), you need a controller. All heaters....I'll repeat....all heaters will fail, and the failure that is dangerous is the stuck ON....that will cook your tank. A controller will protect you from a stuck ON failure. If you don't have a tank controller, consider an InkBird or Ranco to controller your heaters.....and I use the plural purposely....use two heaters instead of one.

My heaters are in my sump....but I'm thinking two 200's or 250's....and that would depend in part on room location and heat demand.

I'm using two because when one fails, the other is there to try to keep temperature, and not that far off where it will impact livestock. I also have backup's ready to go, if needed.

Recently switched to green. Blue does not have audible alarms. Just need to use an outlet splitter on the heating outlet

I use two Finnex heaters with an Inkbird controller. Works well and easy to setup.

I am going to go with a Eheim Jager Tru temp and an Inkbird ITC -308 controller.

Ebo/Ehiem for me too.

Ranco is best. Inkbird is good. Apex is OK. Definately dual-control any heater.

I buy six-packs of 300 watt Ehiems on eBay. They are about $180 for six of them.

Depending where you live can help determine what size heater would be best. For me I am in Colorado and my 200g is in the basement, in the winter I put a second heater in my sump controlled by a Inkbird. The rest of the year I have a 250watt WanBros titanium on a Inkbird and it works great. My backup heaters are ViaAqua and i use them on my freshwater tanks, never had a problem, I would put them on a controller in a heartbeat and not think twice about it. Obviously the common denominator here is having a reliable temp controller.
