Best home iodine test kit?

Not sure about new evidence, but Iodine is a very difficult element to test and supplement. Depending on coral species and bioload… it’s gone within a few days and dosing monthly, biweekly, or even weekly will typically lead to an overdose. For this reason I’d recommend to dose iodine after receiving your ICP results rather than a home test kit that is hard to perform and read.

ICP came back with levels low. Everything else was within normal levels save iron: tested very high (I use black sand, very high in iron) and Phos: way too low (I cut back on my filter sock changes, and eliminated water changes)

Salifert, Red Sea, ??

Which and why?

TIA!
I've only used Red Sea and they have been great for everything else I've tested, but not for Iodine. Maybe it's just me, but the color change is so very slight I can't read it with any confidence. If you wanted, I would send you my kit as it is not longer really useful to me.

I’d run a magnet through the black sand. Put one in a ziplock bag and go to work. Iodine always comes back low and needs tiny daily doses.

I had no idea Hanna even made an iodine checker
Yeah, I wasted money on it and it literally won't work for marine applications. I read everything about it and hanna never once says it's not for marine anywhere. Thanks hanna. I am really starting to hate them. Calcium test is a waste of money as well.

Seachem made my kit, which I hate. Total PITA. Every time I test my iodine/de is zeroed out and therefore I'm glad it comes with a positive control.

I will say that I've basically given up on testing and I sort of just "give 'er a squirt" once a week or so. When I do this my corals look incredible by the next morning.

Only anecdotal.
