Who makes the best LED light strip for a fish only tank? I have a 125 gallon, 6 ft long tank.
I was looking at the Marine Advanced LED Light strip.

Hello,

I would say by far would be the 72 inch orbit marine pro (not the ic loop one). It has more than enough power to do any corals or clams and will easily handle fish. The other lights that work extremely well are the fluval marine 2.0 especially for fish only. They will handle most corals also but high demanding sps (ones that need extreme light) they can’t handle. You could do a clam but you would need to have it within 8 inches of the surface. If you go with the current ic pro it comes with two 72 inch strips and that would be much better also than the one your suggesting.

I run three of the current orbit marine pros on my 240 and they simply stunning. Plus currents customer service and warranty

That Orbit looks like way more than I need for a Fish Only Tank.

I would second the reef Brite strips. Quite a few hobbyist use them.

Fish only? You don’t need reefbrite power or price tag for that. Why not get a 2 tube t5ho light? Not like you’ll need to replace the bulbs real often. It’ll be a lot cheaper than any led fixture

Do you guys feel the OR120 along with the ATI t5 setup would be good for the morning/night blues - and for the coral color pop everyone looks for?

Absolutely, though I hate that they Include white diodes. That’s unnecessary for what a blue led strip is typically used for. My school of thought: If you’re going to use blue LEDs for displaying wild colors for a decent portion of the day, then go heavy heavy handed on low kelvin white t5 tubes and true actinics in your mix. While it’ll be maybe less pleasing visually during peak photoperiod, it will actually develop a lot of those pigments that look amazing under LEDs. Similar to how shallow water mariculture acros look ridiculous under artificial lights initially and that fades fast.

If you’re gonna use Blue LEDs for a dawn and dusk. Don’t be afraid to throw a couple 6500k and a couple true actinics in your t5 mix

Shoot them an email. When I sent an email to them they were very fast to respond and readily answered all questions. Great customer service

Reefbrite XHOs are an option. I personally have a pair of the SBREEF Sbar actinic strips. 4:1 ratio of 450nm Cree royal blues and 420nm violets

The RB XHO is what i had planned... but then the reefers here mentioned it being even less powerful than the OR strips...
i just feel like the RF is super expensive for a strip of blue lights.

but if they were strong enough to make the corals color up then i can see the point.
I am researching the OR strips as well to see if they are best bang for the buck.

Talking with Orphek they can also make the light to suit your needs whether you are looking for color or pop. Depending on what you want they will install the corresponding lenses on the leds. At least for me that was the case
