Hi all. I'm new to saltwater tanks and have been wanting to give it a go for awhile and finally decided to try it out. I have a 54 gallon corner tank that is: 39" x 27.25" x 23". I was hoping to get some help on the best lighting for this odd shaped tank since it is basically a triangle with a bow front. Something that won't break the bank but able to support all kinds of corals would be nice. I'm still in the planning stage so don't know what i'll be putting in it yet in regards to corals.

Hello and welcome to R2R!
Lighting is always a tricky question. The reason being is you have to know what you plan to add to your tank in the future. Have a plan! Not every coral needs intense light, plus there are ways around this by say placing these corals closer to the light at the top of the tank. Or if they don’t need much light or any at all, placement can be under caves, to the side of your point source lighting and lower in your tank.
Just need to read, research and come up with a game plan in terms of what you want in your tank, then you can be better prepared to buy the right light and for the right price.
Good luck...

For my freshwater tanks I like using the Finnex 24/7 light so my first thought was to get the marine version of that for this tank. I'm just

I'm thinking of going with the OceanRevive T247. Any thoughts on that for this tank?

Welcome to R2R. I'm not really well versed on lighting systems, but I'll give it a shot. I don't have the OceanRevive T247, but I run similar black boxes on my 125. I get good light penetration, and keep everything from softies to acros pretty successfully. Downsides are that without a filter, I do get some color separation. They produce some heat, so if you have a canopy, you might consider a fan. Last thing is coverage. Not sure if one unit will evenly light the entire tank. With the odd angles of your tank, you might get some interesting shading. Of course the higher you mount the light, the more even coverage and less intensity you will get. Overall, I'm happy with mine. Especially at the price. Hope this helps.

I bet one hydra 52 would work really well for that tank. Your corners might end up being a bit darker than the rest of the tank. but over all I think it would give you what you want.

I use 2 Kessil 360we on my 92g corner and the corals love it.
