Does the Monster Mash like low, medium, or intense lighting? Just trying to figure out placement in my chalice tank. Light is a 400 watt Helios 20K SE bulb.

To quote Pink Floyd: "Is there anybody out there?"

In my tank is the best place for it. Not many have it so it might be hard to find good feedback for light,flow,ect..

I keep mine just out of direct light under a 150w Radium. It seems to be happy...

I have mine dead center up high under t5s and 2 250w mh and it seems happy!

Hi Brian,
Your MM frag looks really happy. Thanks for the information. Mine is about halfway up the tank (30" x 30" x 24") right now in direct light. If yours is in indirect light under a 150 watt halide, then mine is getting a lot more light than yours under a 400 watt halide. I'll try some indirect light at the bottom of the tank.

Sounds like yours is getting pretty intense light, unlike reef lovers. Maybe MM is happy in a wide range of lighting?

I have mine kind of shaded about 28" from 250W 20000K DE light bulb, seems to be happy but it's a really slow grower for me.

This is my frag of it from a little while back but you can see it is definitely liking it as it has popped out 2 eyes since then!

Most chalices like a little shade. They're flat to collect the lower levels of light down low in a reef.

Sorry but I disagree. I think they like much more light than most think. I have my MM under a 250w MH radium, in about 5" of water, and I'm running ozone. Its very happy as are the 40 other morphs. ;)

I have mine under 10X54watt ATI T5's on the sand bed. Total distance is 28" and its growing fast.
