Best lights for a 55 gallon tank

I got a new tank set up. Would like a anemone and coral not sure what yet. But lighting next on the list to upgrade next. Before I’m ready to get anything. The options seem endless. I want something with a timer sunrise sunset and effects.

Yes, the options are endless! Lighing is probably the most expensive component of reefkeeping. Do you have a budget in mind? Thats where I usually start.

I’d like to be under $500 I been looking at the Current USA Orbit IC LED - LOOP COMPATIBLE 48” to 60” with the pumps.

I can't comment because I didn't have any experience with that system. My preference would be a pair of AI primes or Kessil a160's. Maybe a t5 setup. I did a search for that Current set up and a few things came up here. Im sure you won't have trouble getting opinions from people using them. Good luck! I love R2R

I know you are not going to want to hear this. But I feel like I should say it anyways. The equipment you end up purchasing for this 55 gallon tank will likely be just fine for a 75 gallon tank. The 75 gallon tank is still 48 in Long but it is deeper from front to back than the 55 gallon tank is. This means that you will have much more room for Aquascape. Not to mention a higher water volume which only helps with stability. Before you become heavily invested in this tank. I think it would be worth considering a 75 gallon tank instead.
