I'm going to phase out my current salt for Red Sea Coral Pro but that will be a few months away I suspect, in the meantime... can someone please recommend a really nice low nutrient coral?

something easily available too if possible.

Magnesium levels 1220ppm, calcium 420 and Alkalinity 6.8 but will look to lift that until I switch salts in a few months.

I have been growing softies for 45 years. With low nutrients, soft corals grow slow. Pick any one of them you like. Do your own research for what you like.

Alkalinity adjustment does not require differrent salt, kalk dosing does that just fine. You should not wait several months to bring alkalinity up. Even with soft corals, alkalinity helps corals to grow.

Ummm, thanks for the reply I guess.

Kind of looking for advice and opinion on which is the easiest, best to grow in a low nutrient system. I've done my research and if that's the answer why have a forum? I'm looking for opinion and discussion on it. Suggestions which I can then ask questions from or having a starting point from.

I'm not changing my salt for alkalinity, I"m changing it because of all the elements are lower on my current salt, I may still need to dose it after that change and will have to wait and see.

The link that I supplied, Live Aquaria listed all soft corals available with prices. Each coral had specific requirements and ease of maintenance.

You asked about availability and ease of maintenance. I supplied you with the link that listed both. Did you look at the list?

Did the information link at Live Aquaris answer any of your questions?

For me to know where to start in the discussion requires more than easy & available. Most soft coral fit that description.

If you did your research, what did you find that you liked? If you had specific questions, ask.

Try starting with GSP with a color variety that you like.
