Best Media for Media Reactor

Hi all, so I have a Reef Octopus MF2000 Advanced Media Reactor. I have a 180g just fish at the moment. I will add corals in the near future. My question is which media would be the best to place inside this reactor. I do have media balls in a section of my sump already. A few people really like Dr. Tims Pearls. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!!!!

“best” is subjective and it really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish with the reactor. for example, do you have high no3 or po4? or maybe use it for carbon?

If i had to only run one reactor it would be carbon. Removes the stuff we cant test at home for. Other options there are other ways to remove nitrates or phosphates to try first. Carbon is kinda my safe guard if someone sprays near the tank, corals release something, etc.

bio pellets for no3 and gfo for po4. but if you don’t currently have issues with either of these, i’d also just use it for carbon for now.

not recommended because they need different flow rates to really work efficiently.
