how deep are your pockets? Does designer corals and scolys impress though or no?
if just starting…
I’d cop my corals at Aqua SD at first anyway… Some of the frags are a lil small but anymore thats status quo.
If your pockets are deeper then any of the ORA corals have “higher” survival rates IMO
other might suggest more “premium” vendors like WWC but I usually wait for sales as I’m no “collector” and could give a dang about a “Named” coral

Fish: lots of places, but I still like Live Aquaria, but opinions and experiences vary and I believe most…
Equipment: Saltwateraquarium.com , better and wider selection than BRS but I use both plus BigAlsonline AND Premium Aquatics for speed and customer service

Premiumaquatics and Marineandreef for equipment. Websites are dated but NO TAX from both vendors ;Happy Premiumaquatics items arrive in two days, Marineandreef always have a coupon that can be applied. For Corals check out the Sponsors section for sales. Vendors always have flash sales, quite a few just had Labor Day sales with some good priced corals. Good luck.

Battlecorals has an excellent & healthy stock and Adam is a pleasure to deal with. He can dial in whatever you want for your budget: color, hardiness, fast/slow growth, etc. I usually give him some general ideas and let him assemble a package for me--called a Battle Box. And he always throws in a bonus frag or two. These are almost entirely SPS, so not sure if that is what you are after.

Craigslist.... with ppl getting out of the hobby OR hobbyists fragging stuff with very reasonable non-gouging prices

For coral I prefer to use @Budman's Corals . He has great quality and excellent service.
I have had some very good experiences purchasing from individuals on the forum here.
I have found that I have certain suppliers for livestock that I gravitate toward. As for equipment and supplies I tend to find a brand I like and stick with them until I find a reason not to. I just shop around for the best deal on the brands I like.

Jason Fox is my go to for corals. His frags tend to be larger than many sellers' and they're always in excellent health, and, he doesn't just sell his high end corals and tends to have regular discounts on his wysiwyg. I've also had good experiences with WWC, Golden State Corals, Pacific East, Pieces of the Ocean, and Ocean's Garden.

For fish, there's no better source than TSM Aquatics, though they just don't have much for sale. Reef Beauties and BlueZoo are also worth checking out. Used to shop at LA, but their livestock quality (even in Diver's Den) is not what it used to be. NY Aquatic also used to be a go to, but have had disappointing experiences with them my last couple orders.

Otherwise, if there's a local reef club or bbs in your area, you'll definitely get great, healthy pieces at much better prices.

AquaSD is great for beginners as they have a lot of very cheap frags when they're on sale. Mayan sun favia for 12 bucks, that kind of thing.
I live near Cherry Corals and they have been excellent. Best to wait for a live sale or sale for most online vendors.
I also really recommend Lucky Corals. He is a great guy, excellent communication, fantastic selection, particularly torches, open brain corals, and trachys. Otherwise the forums are probably going to be the best price (Marketplace).
Other vendors with good service/high quality:
uniquecorals.com
https://cornbredcorals.com/collections/lps
Legendary-corals.com
Legend is good for encrusting

I'm sure I'm missing a few.
