Best place to buy a Clam

Just being cautious lol. I hate losing clams over stuff like that. Lost a beautiful tear drop due to my inexperience many moons ago.

Oh man I hate that.

I lost a squamocea and maxima when I got my TBS live rock to a few very large gorilla crabs, really hurt, can't imagine losing a tear drop. Cannot stress enough about putting rock like TBS in a tub for a couple of weeks before introducing into an established system, unfortunately I was testing a theory about beating dinos with biodiversity. Haven't seen squamoceas pop up recently, was a cool clam.

I would consider Blue Fish Aquariums in Cleveland, OH. Always a great selection of fish and corals. They typically have clams. And they post a lot on Facebook.

I have a 6" Blue maxima clam. Doing well in my 90 gal. Upgrading to a 180 this week!

Good luck.

i know this is an old thread but i have managed to kill every clam i ever had within 5-7 days. i have tried several different kinds and none made it past 7 days. ph is 7.9-8.0, alk 7.3-7.7 range cal 430-440 mag 1600 phos 0-0.02 nitrates 0-3 temp 78-80 salinity 1.026.
i have 8ft tank with 5 vegas and 4 x hydra 26 hd all running at about max. PAR at sandbed is about 200.
any thoughts?

If anything, the tank might be too clean. Clams always do better for me in tanks that are a little bit dirty or are fed heavily.
