Best place to get copepods?

I believe a lot of people buy them off of marinedepot.com. That’s where I’m probably going to get them once my refugium is set up

Chad, does the buy 1 get one free deal apply for local store purchase? :)

I recently (unexpectedly) came to own a mandarin. I had ordered pods from https://www.buffaloreefbiologics.com/ to seed a new tank I'm setting up so I still had 1/2 a bottle of tiger pods when I got him. I dumped 1/2 in to his tank and I started a culture to breed them with the rest. Its pretty straightforward from everything I have read so far and the pods are still alive lol. Next I ordered more pods (tisbee this time) and phyto to set up more cultures with those. Both will be here tomorrow. I fed the tank tonight and the mandarin decided he loves frozen mysis and ate at least a dozen lol. Still gonna try to raise the pods but I was ecstatic to see him eat frozen!

Hey thanks! :) I actually have tigger pods now that I am using and they are refrigerated.. is this the norm to keep them cold in between feedings? The guy at the aquarium store I purchased them from wasn't super informative... he said I could pour the whole bottle in there and just let the fish eat or put a little in every day.. what is the best approach? Thanks again!

I would imagine the local store can sell you two for one if they chose to... Maybe if you show them the online deal, they will match it. Maybe not, but it wouldn't hurt to try, or to call and ask.

I’ve been happy with Todd’s Pods. I think his prices are really good and the order I received had tons of visible, live pods. Www.toddspods.com.

I really appreciate all the comments about high shipping costs. We are actually working on making it much cheaper to buy and ship our products. Once our website and shopping cart are updated, we will do a big giveaway. One of the criteria of the giveaway will be for everyone to visit our new website and comment about something they learned. It's a fun way to create more awareness of not only our Reef Nutrition products, but our aquaculture products.

Again, I apologize for the high shipping costs and understand that it is a deal breaker for the majority of you. Shipping perishables is not cheap, but we can do better.

Best,
Chad

I used 2 kinds of pods, but I will speak from research and use of Reef Nutrition Tigger Pods. They are hands down the best. It's all about where they are collected. RN's are highly resistant to temp and salinity swings, because of where they are collected. Plus when I picked some up a week ago. They are adding more than their normal 2k pods to each bottle. Which was the reason I purchased them. I used to have 2 tanks to culture them. I did Algagen Tisbe pods and they were a total waste of time. RN's Tigger pods, every time they just explode in numbers. I have had the tanks over 80+F and 1.031 salinity.
