Curious of people's opinions on Potassium Test kits, which they prefer and why?

Thanks!

Red Sea for me, but I haven't used a ton of potassium kits.

Sent from Note 2

ive used kz,redsea and salfert. i find that the salfert is the best. seems to be the easiest to read and the results are consistent.

I just bought salifert today, my Lfs said its best review and easy to use. I had no problem using it also.

I test it with Salifert
Don't test often it doesn't move too much but it does go down faster than my water changes or two part replace it. I would say I get a drop of around 10ppm every 6-8 weeks. I blame my refugium but couldn't say for sure why I get the drop.

Potassium is pretty important if u keep Sps . It helps with growth color polyps extension etc.
Corals need potassium strontium iodide etc it's all these element what makes color to thrive not only ca kh mag.
The reason not much people talk about it is because they don't get to drain as much as ca kh, whenu do regular WC it already helps to replace the elements.
It's important to not dose anything that u don't can't test for cuz u never know when u will over dose! Just like my potassium now at 420 after a water change, normally is good if it's 400, so I stop dosing it now. I know someone usually don't do WC for months or go on a trip for weeks, they rely on their dosing pump to dose those trace elements.

Jeez 2013 anything new, I know in 2013 potassium may not have been to hot, but im looking into dosing, not overdosing.

There is salifert available for 18$ or redsea pro kit for around 60$ but looking at accuracy not price anyone have experience in this?

Salifert is waaaay easier to use. If done correctly both the RS and Salifert are accurate but there is way more steps on the RS. I have run both kits 3 times in a row being very careful but the RS varied wildly where salifert was on every time. My question is what is a “safe” higher lever to keep K at? AFR keeps my K at 390-400 I don’t know if it’s worth dosing the Red Sea potassium+ if it’s at a safe level already. I have read and seen higher K gives a more vibrant color and I got a nice red dragon and pink Mille I want to color up

I agree, with what I've seen salifert is recommend more, I've seen 400 is a good target, but I would like to know where I'm sitting at, so salifert may be the way to go, thank you for you thoughts!

I have only used Elos for Potassium and I am not a fan. The test is way too subjective and can vary by 100-200ppm depending on who is interrupting the results.
