I need to increase flow in my nano tank (Evo-13.5) to rid myself of some dead spots. I recently tried an jebao wavemaker ow-10 with a minimum flow rate of 132 gph. It was great for kicking up detritus and algae that had settled on the sand and rock, but all of my corals hated it. My frogspawn and gorgonian retracted their polyps, and my xenia stopped pulsing. None of these corals were directly in the powerheads flow, but it’s such a small tank that even at the lowest setting everything seemed to be either high flow or ultra high flow as soon as I added the powerhead.

I am looking at the Vortech MP10. It has a higher minimum flow rate, but it looks like people are using it with success in tanks that are smaller than mine. It’s pretty expensive, but worth it if it works. Any recommendations are very much appreciated

Tunze 6040. They are simply the best nano wave maker out there. The deflector cap lets you direct the flow wherever you want and it can be mounted any way you please. I had two in my 22g (still have them) sps tank and they were a breeze to clean. You can probably pick one up used for a good deal?
