I have an Innovative Marine 75 EXT which is 3 ft long 2 ft deep. I had thought I was going to buy MP40's since I would like to grow SPS but with the shorter length and after seeing some impressive Gyre tanks I am changing my mind. Can I get some opinions on peoples favorite options for my tank length and some reasoning behind them? Thanks everyone!

Tunze for me. Tried most of what is out there and always come back. Got tired of the failure rates on Ecotech products. 4 wetsdies in less than a year. Gyres need a lot of maintenance IME.

Nero 5 would be good as well. AI is an Ecotech brand but my Nero 3s were all great. One failed on me but AI replaced it and sounded excited to try and figure out what had happened to it. Failures don't seem to be common with them. The MyAI app is another story though. Set it and forget it because getting pumps to connect was a major PITA

Nero's look very nice form factor wise but they seemed like they would not give me the same flow. I have heard a few people speak highly of the Tunze powerheads. I guess they looked big to me so I had been hesitant to check them out. I will do more research on those, thanks for the input rt.

I am a big fan of Tunze. I have almost the same tank - 75G Innovative Marine, but INT. I run it with two 6095s. I believe the 6095s are physically smaller than the 6105s, but I haven’t had the 6015s in years now so I can’t be certain. People have their preferences and brand loyalties, and I’m one of them - I personally wouldn’t try another power head brand unless Tunze went out business. I cannot say the same for their ATO system though.

I ended up buying the exact same Tunze 6095’s! I also got two small Sicce pumps for flow behind the rock work and am very happy with the results. Thanks for sharing your opinions everyone.

Great minds, and such. What else are you running? Unfortunately I’m just starting to take mine down before a cross-country move next month, and thinking of whether to set up the same or make some changes on the other side.

I have two Sicce xstream wave 2120gph on opposite sides of the tank flowing behind the rocks along the back glass. I have the wave surfer controller. I have 1 Tunze 6095 in the back corner along the side glass. I will be getting a second Tunze 6095 for the other side when we get a bit more cash. Tank has been running dark for 6 weeks with no corals or fish in it. Turned the fuge on 6 days ago and main display lights on half intensity starting two days ago. I added purple helix coralline from Algae Barn just because I could not resist the purple bottles :p water quality looks good, cycle is done and my clown pair have another week in QT then it’s time to actually get this roller coaster started!
