Best practice for QT

I need a temporary QT for 1 yellow watchman...since its going in a 10 gal. it'll probably be my last fish (have a yellow tail and a tail-spot blenny)...I want to reduce any possibility of velvet, ich, etc....what chemical is best?...If copper, what kind...for how long?..Thanks...
